Frequently Asked Questions

Is my work Guaranteed?

All work that we carry out, no matter how large or small, is fully guaranteed.

Will I be told how long my work is going to take?

Yes. You will either be given an exact date or a time period within which your work will be completed. We do have to sometimes rely on Manufacturers for deliveries and these can be delayed so if you need something for a specific date do tell us when you bring your work in.

Can you hand colour or stain a frame for me?

Yes. Just discuss your requirements with us.

Can you hand decorate mounts?

Yes. Just discuss your requirements with us or bring us an old mount to copy and we will tell you whether it can be reproduced.

Are you easy to find?

Yes. Just go to the Contact Us page.

Do you have parking?

We have ample free parking on our own forecourt.

Do you offer conservation framing?

We offer a full conservation framing service using products held in stock.

Do you do all your own work?

We do all our own framing work on the premises.

Can we repair old frames?

Yes we can. Why pay for new frames if the frames you have look good with your existing artwork or you just love them. Old gilt frames? We can repair the oldest of frames making new parts for missing detail as necessary. If you’re not sure whether they are suitable for repair then just pop them in to us for a quick, no obligation assessment.

Can we cut some glass (or backs, inserts or mounts) for my existing frames?

Yes we can.  It is always best to bring the old frames in to us so we can check the measurements and to make it safer for you to transport any glass.  If you want us to put everything back together safely then again it’s no trouble. We frequently take boxes of old frames, bits of antique glass, old oils or pictures and put them all back together again to give you a fantastic wall display.

Can we clean and repair old oils on canvas?

A cleaned and re-varnished oil is always a transformation.  Taking away the years of grime can show you colours you didn’t know were there. When varnished the contrast is enhanced and the picture will have a prolonged lease of life.  We can also do minor repairs to the canvas, touching-up of the artwork and re-stretching onto the old or new stretcher bars.

Can we do work for Insurance or House Removal Companies?

We can carry out frame repairs or reglazing for you, or on behalf of Insurance Companies or Removal Companies when things get damaged by fire, flood, accident or moving home.  We are happy to invoice these companies directly.
